Superior Components, Inc. was founded in 1982 by Charles Fredenburg who had recently retired from ITW Plastiglide as their Midwest Sales Representative with 25+ years of experience in the Furniture Components business. Charles, wanting to stay active in the Furniture Components business started by supplying Furniture Replacement Parts to Schools, mainly tubular glides that go on desks and chairs from his back bedroom in Downers Grove, IL. By 1986, he realized many OEM Manufactures were looking for fast delivery of Furniture Components so he started stocking the most popular items. Coupled with being ITW Plastiglide’s Exclusive Stocking Distributor led to a significant increase in business. Charles partly attributed his good fortune to the Horseshoe over the back bedroom door. Now the inventory had grown so much so that he had to turn his garage into the warehouse.
In 1989 I joined Charles, my Father-In-Law, bringing my Technical Sales background to the business. With our focus to provide our customers with the best parts, prices, and customer service with same day shipping we were able to grow the business. In 1991 we moved into a 2,000 square foot office/warehouse in Plainfield, Illinois which expanded to 4,000 square feet in 1993. By 1994 we had grown to Five Employees. By 2003 we were busting at the seams and had built and moved into our brand new 10,000 square foot office and warehouse shown in the photo below. There are now nine of us serving you. We pride ourselves on answering your call and responding to your email quickly.
We have many happy customers who have asked us to supply unrelated parts from toilet seats to critical tolerance automotive parts and more. With our extensive supplier base in the USA, Asia, and other locations around the world, we can supply virtually any part, assembly, or finished product.
